Madam Pele's Night Light Display

For Lucy's last night in town we went over to Kalapana with our friends Antonio and Mirra to see the lava flow. The flow it seems to have moved a bit farther from the viewing point, so all that can be seen is the lava glow reflecting on the steam plume as it rises behind a lava ledge. Still, it provided a great photo opportunity. There was also a big surface flow coming down the hill from the caldera setting big patches of forest on fire, quite spectacular.... Sunday Lu flew back to Arizona, it was great having her here!
