Learning from Uncle Chanclas....(Oh dear....!)

Girls have been in Mexico for two weeks now. They've been to my parents farm up in the mountain, swim in the pool in the house in Guadalajara, Hana had her baptism, and then recently they sent us these pictures of them playing in the pool......

What the.....!? so then when we asked them whose idea had it been to go swimming in the pool with umbrellas, it came as no surprise when they both said "Unlce Chanclas!!!!", that would be my brother...

One must understand that my brother is quite peculiar, that is, he has some loose (or missing all together) screws up in his noggin... Ever since he was a little kid he was a bit on the daring side. He would take the longest showers, equipped with dive mask, fins AND and UMBRELLA!....

He is into extreme sports, like downhill-suicidal mountain biking....
Or was.....I should say, until a tree got in his way during a landing, and broke his arm in too many pieces to count....

So, needless to say, I'm a bit concerned as to what else he may be teaching his two god-daughters (he's the godfather of the two of them) besides jumping into a pool with an umbrella (at least this time they're jumping from ground level and not from my parents balcony in the third floor!)....

More Familia

This is my dad's side of the family (or a VERY small portion of it.....my dad was the second oldest in a family of 11, I have over 30-something cousins!!, the youngest ones are about the same age as my kids!)

Hana with my dad and my grandmother....

Syd with my dad at Hana's baptism...The girls with my Aunt Elia, the oldest of the sisters in my dad's family. And as it turns out, her daugher Tania (my cousin) makes these little pencil cases and books with some characters that she created, how cool is that!

Here they are looking at one of the books she made....

More pool fun !
