Holy Banana Batman!

Or the day Hana becomes Catholic....

That's right, as of today Hana is officially Catholic. She has been asking us for quite some time now that she wanted to get baptized and become Catholic, so Nonna (who else) arranged the whole thing in Mexico. We tried doing it here in Hilo but we had a hard time in finding a couple that met the strict requirements set by the church for godparents (namely being catholic as well). Turns out the people we really really like here don't qualify.

So we (or better said, Nonna did) had to organize her baptism in our absence.......Godparents are my brother and his wife (they did meet the requirements, actually my brother barely made it....he had to take some courses in Tapalpa on how to be a good godfather and a good catholic - thanks bro)...

So here is the event in pictures (Note: since we were not there, we are filling in the commentaries or thoughts that were most likely taking place while the photos were being taken...)

"Ooooh! I even get to light a candle! I love lighting candles! " (she does too)-"Yes Hana, it is a Catholic tradition that when you get baptized, you have to pay your older sister a baptism fee..."-"Oh, sure she'll make a fine Catholic..."
