EASTER! or... WHAT A HAM!

Here's Charlotte with her masterpiece for this Easter Brunch, a Lilikoi glazed 12 lb ham! it was out of this world!!!!

You know how the Chinese have the year of the Rat, the year of the Ox etc, etc....well, we have decided that here in Hawai'i we're going to make March the Month of the Pua'a (Pig)...why? well, lets see, first week of March was the cookoff at Charlotte's farm, where the main dish was Kalua Pig, we brought home plenty of kalua pig left overs, a few weeks later at Leslie's house it was Emma Rose's B-day luau, where the main dish was, yes, you guessed, Kalua Pig (from which we also brought plenty of left overs home), now this Easter we didn't have a Kalua Pig but the size and taste of the ham that C cooked was unbelievable! so, there, March will be the Month of the Pig!

We had a Easter brunch at home, and invited our friends the Smiths (from Maine), Antonio and Mila with their daughter Mira (Mila's portuguese, Antonio born in Cyprus raised in the UK) and their friend Caroline (she's Brit raised Canadian), Gary and his daughters Rayce and Kirrah (they're from Australia), us (Mexico and US) and Kim....quite the international crew eh?

Food was delicious and plentyful: besides the ham, C made scalloped potatoes, we had a big plate of avocado, big coleslaw salad from Mila, fruit salad from Gary, bread, jell-o eggs, apple pie from the Smiths', mimosas, beer, coffee, big island candy (dark chocolate with mac nuts) and I think that was it....
