Auntie Kim Visits from Silver City NM!
Last week Charlottes' oldest sister, Kim came to visit. Kim lives in Silver City, NM where she's planning on buying the toy store where she currently works. She's here for almost two weeks.

Charlotte and the girls went to the airport to pick her up.

Friday we went to Kona to spend the night at the Royal Kona. The Royal Kona was actually quite nice.

Even though we stayed at the old tower (the one in which rooms have not been renovated yet) the rooms were very nice and clean, the only problem was that we were given a room facing Ali'i drive right next to a bar, so at 2AM when the bar closed and kicked all the obnoxious drunks out on the street, they were, well, practically outside our room (one floor below) and they were making quite some noise!

Friday night Ali'i drive was a circus! totally packed with people! Kona, courtesy of Madame Pele has been suffering from big time Vog, worse than usual. So both days were pretty voggy...

Here's the girls in the hotel room after their late night shower. Getting ready to go out to town!

Saturday we went to Honaunau (the place of refuge)...

From there we headed back to town to meet with our good friends Nana, Thomas, Julie and Alex for lunch. This is Thomas and that monster on his plate is a Loco Moco (for all of you in Arizona, and especially in Mexico, Loco Moco is a typical hawaiian dish, it has rice, egg, some kind of meat - it can be spam, burger, mahi mahi, sausage, etc - and gravy.....where does the name come from? who knows! but I still laugh at it every time)...

After lunch the kids played on the sidewalk while we "talked story".

Then we visited some of the stores on Ali'i before heading back to Hilo to get ready for......

EASTER!!!!

I like the idea to spend a night or two in Kona, lets do it the next time I'll be there.
It's nice to see Kim,
Love
Nonna
