Christmas Dinner Danish Style!
Last night our friends Thomas and Nana invited us to spend Christmas Eve with them and to enjoy a delicious Danish meal. Table was beautifully set.
Turns out that the Danes don't eat pickled Herring for Christmas Eve (they do eat it for Christmas Day). Instead they eat duck. Every year we were told they make roasted duck, potatoes with gravy and red cabbage. This year however, Thomas after seeing our new red smoker (see thanksgiving entry) decided to get one for himself and try to smoke his Xmas dinner duck...... Well, it turned out to be DELICIOUS!!!!
Ah, the proud face of the chef holding his masterpiece!
After dinner we sang carols around the Christmas tree and the kids opened some presents. After that we read Luke's 2-16 gospel (the birht of Christ) around the living room in danish and english. It was a wonderful night.....

Christmas Day at the New House

Today after an early start (5:30 the girls woke us up to go and open the presents from Santa), then for Brunch we had our traditional Fondue meal (we do this every year for Christmas Day).
After that it was off to the new house to give the girls their last Xmas surprise: A trampolin! and to do some work on the house, where demolition in the kitchen is starting and the rooms are taking in some color:

Sydney's Green Rainforest Room
