St. Joe's Country Fair

Last weekend was the St. Joseph's Country Fair. A fair put together by the school where the girls go to. It is a huge fund raiser in town with lots of games, entertainment, food and other stuff.

Charlotte had a booth with tomatoes and lettuce from Hamakua Springs and it was a huge hit. By 09:30 all the tomatoes were gone and by 11:00 the last lettuce was taken!

Girls had a lot of fun, there were pony rides, rock climbing walls, hula dancers, ukulele bands, rock bands, lots of food (malasadas, lau lau pig, kalua pig & cabbage, and much more). We also saw many friends from school, from the soccer team, and other places.

Another highlight of the fair was that I finally got to meet in person our "friend that we hadn't met" Macario. We met his wife Leslie and daughter Emma Rose when we first move here, she writes the blog for Hamakua Springs. For some reasons we had not been able to meet Macario, and we were beginning to think that it was a product of Leslie's imagination. That was until last weekend (actually Charlotte had already met him at their house a week or so before) when we came face to face. Here is the proof of his elusive existence:

Picture Day

Before the country fair we had a soccer game, and before the soccer game it was picture day. So here are the mighty "Pink Panthers"...... Great team!

The Garden Grows On!

C's garden continues to grow! We are seeing the first products coming up, such as:

our first tomatoes!

Serrano Peppers!

We also have cilantro, basil, eggplants, pumpkins, and other type of peppers coming up...
