Work in Progress

Work in the new house is coming along, slower than we would want to, but coming along nevertheless....

Finishing the wood floors has been ordeal. The first sander we rented turned out to be too wimpy for the floors, especially Syd's which was the most damaged.

Then there was the issue with the "drying time" for the stain-polyurethane finishing products. The label read "allow 4 to 6 hours of drying time before applying next coat" HA! try that in Hilo... it should have a special label for Hilo residents that reads: "allow for 24 hours to dry, if you are lucky enough to get that many hours of sunshine, otherwise expect 48 to 72 hours for the finish to dry enough where you can add the next coat".....

But anyways, bigger sander did a better job, Syd's floor had to be sanded all the way down to the bare wood to eliminate all the scratches, and I type the second coat is now drying...

Some Vacation

All this time the girls have been on school vacation and all they've got to do is go to the new house. They have been real good sports about it. They don't complain (much) and spend all the time playing with their new addiction (bobble head animal dolls) or jumping on the trampoline.

We also bring a computer so they can watch movies....
