12th Wedding Anniversary!
When we got out of the Biosphere (for those who are just catching up, C&I lived inside Biosphere 2 for six and a half months back in '94) Charlotte and I had already plans for our wedding. We were going to get married in Tucson by a JP have a small party there for our Tucson friends, get in the car and head South to Mexico where we were just going to cruise for a while, stopping in Guadalajara and having a church wedding there.
So on September 19th of 1994 we got married in Tucson as we had planned, but then we were hit with the news that I could not leave the country until my greencard had been processed, which would take about a year. And indeed it did, so in August 19th of 1995 we had our church wedding in Guadalajara. So we now celebrate two anniversaries one month appart....
No big plans this time, but a very nice day indeed. We went to the beach and hung out with some friends. Surf was great and both Syd and Hana have lost all their fear to the waves and are now two daredevil boogie boarders. Syd spent about 3 hours in the water, first by herself then with her Australian friend (Cookie) riding the waves. Hana tried the surfboard and was able to stand up with no problems every time she tried. Charlotte also tried the board and also stood up, soon we'll be an all surfing family.
After that we went home and had a nice quiet dinner in the back yard. We had grilled tri-tip steak and a home grown salad (well, half home grown half farm grown).
Syd and Hana pretending to pull Charlotte's lettuce on wheels wagon
Hana picked the lettuce and made the salad by herself, it had lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers...hmmm ono
chopping lettuce
Voila!

Happy Anniversaries! I love that story of how you get two anniversaries. Congratulations from us!

not only that, but I would suggest it to anyone who's planning on tying the knot, because not only you celebrate twice, but you get double presents. But make sure you make them on the same day of the month, that way it is easier to remember. The other advantage is that if you forget one, you can always say that you were planning on celebrating the other one...
