A visitor from the mainland !
It is always fun to have people from the mainland to come and visit. Last week we had a special guest: David from San Diego came and visited the Big Island and spend a couple of days with us. We had a great time getting to know David better and enjoyed his visit big time!
Free spirited, he spent the first couple of days getting himself acquainted with the Big Island, a process that is important, for it is during this time that one can sense which part of the island one belongs to, or not belong here at all.
David and his long dreadlocks immediately found Pahoa and felt right at home. He spent a bohemian night under the stars with other people from the area and he then went over to Kona to a chocolate festival....
David was our dear friend Juanita's true love. Juanita was a beautiful person both in body and soul and we think that she was very fortunate to have found her soulmate in David.
We took David to the botanical gardens where we shared a very special moment with him. He invited us to release some of Juanita's ashes into Onomea bay, a beautiful place where Juanita will always be in and where we can go and visit her. This place will be from now on known to us as "Juanita's Garden".
The girls really liked David, he even painted Syd's fingernails for her soccer tournament in Honolulu.
He also helped me with the dishwasher cabinet!

That is so cool, the picture of David painting Sydney's nails (and the results)! I love that.
Also, I see my magic cream on the table near the nail polish. How's the burn? I hope it's better.
And I can't wait to hear all about your Honolulu trip. Did the fingernail voodoo work? Did they win?

Finger nail artwork worked like a charm, it worked a bit too good actually.
How's that? we lost the first game 2-0, then the magic kicked in and we rolled over the next team 9-0 (we were actually penalized some sportsmanship points for scoring so many goals! can you believe that!?), then we moved on to another win 3-0 and another win 1-0 (nail polish magic was waning off as you can see).
The whole trip was a BLAST! we'll definitely have to get together for dinner to talk about it!
