Dishwasher is in!!!!

Last January when my parents came to visit they gave us as a house warming present a dishwasher. Well, time went by and we finally went to pick one up from Sears a couple of weeks ago.
Dishwasher next to the stove, no cabinet yet.

I worked on the plumbing for the dishwasher last week and David who came from the mainland to visit, and who is a carpenter (and a good one too) gave me a hand building the cabinet around it.

David and I working on the final touches on the cabinet...

TA DA!

Still needs the final cover. We're thinking of getting a piece of granite to put on top or a nice butcher's block. Suggestions are welcome on the comments section....

This week the electrical will be done and then the first test drive (hopefully no leaks).

Thresholds

We also got our new thresholds in. We had tried getting some of the prefabricated ones from Home Depot but none of them really had a good fit. So we found someone who custom makes thresholds so we got ours built to fit to perfection. Now our doorways look very nice...

from the kitchen to the living room before and after

And from the kitchen to the hallway

The two bathrooms

And we now also have lights and a mirror in the girls/visitors bathroom!

And in the yard Charlotte has been working on planting a whole bunch of different plants that we have been given by friends, or others that we have bought. Plants include a vanilla bean vine, a dragon fruit, roses, lilikoi (passion fruit), rosemary, taro, Ti, tree ferns, orchids, anthuriums, lemon grass, and many others.....

Your place is looking cooler every day! I vote for a nice butcher's block. JPB
